EWS Certificate Online Overview 

As per the criteria, people who are eligible need to fill EWS Certificate Online Application Form 2022. There is no hassle involved in applying online; you just need to visit the State Administration Portal and fill out the form along with the required documents. Once your application gets approved by the administration, you can download the certificate. 

President Ram Nath Kovind was the first to approve the bill on 12th January 2019 for the Economically Weaker Sections of the General Category. People who possess EWS Certificates are given 10% reservation in Government jobs, and relaxation is also provided at the time of admission for higher education. 

Eligibility for EWS Certificate Online

If you wish to avail the benefits offered to the EWS category, check the below-mentioned eligibility criteria to apply for the EWS certificate online.

1. General Category- A person who wishes to apply for an EWS certificate must belong to the General Category. 

2.  Family Income- Here, the family income represents the family’s source of income, such as agriculture, job, business, etc. 

3.  Agricultural Land- If, in case, a person or his family member owns agricultural land, it must be less than 5 acres in order to qualify for EWS reservation benefits. 

4.  Residential Plot- the residential plot owned by the candidate or his family should be below 100 sq. yards in a notified municipality sector. In the case of residential plots in non-notified sectors, they should be below 200 sq. yards. However, the residential area of the candidate and their family must be less than 1000 sq ft. 

Any person who fails to fulfill the above requirements to apply for the EWS Certificate online cannot avail of the benefits. 

Documents required by EWS applicants 

Following are the documents required by EWS applicants-

  • Aadhar Card

  • Pan Card

  • Caste Certificate

  • BPL Card 

  • Bank Statement 

  • Affidavit or Self Declaration

  • Income Details

  • Passport Size recent photograph 

  • Domicile Certificate 

What is the application procedure for an EWS Certificate in UP?

After producing an Income and Asset Certificate, the benefit associated with the EWS certificate can be availed. Candidates can apply for the EWS Certificate online or offline, based on their preferences. 

The application mode for EWS Certificate Online: The candidate has to visit the CSC Center, via which the competent authority will apply for the certification based on their behalf. For verification, candidates will be required to visit the official authority for the verification process. 

Offline registration for EWS Certificate: If chosen the offline registration mode, candidates will be required to visit the Revenue Department of their respective region. Fill out the form, apply to the competent official in the office and collect the application receipt. 

EWS Certificate Validity 

Once you get an EWS Certificate, it is valid for a lifetime. However, you will be required to renew and update the certificate within the given period of time. Income and Assets Certificate is valid for 1 year. The span can vary to a maximum of 6 months based on the states. 

Key Points to Remember 

  • People belonging to the EWS category but got selected on the basis of merits will not be counted towards reservation. 

  • The Recruiting Government Agencies and Educational Institutions must verify the Income and Assets Certificate submitted by the applicant via the certificate issuing authority. 

  • The EWS Certificate will be valid for one financial year from the issue date. It is advisable to renew your certificate from time to time. 

  • There is no age relaxation for EWS applicants in UP.
