Nestled in the heart of Pataudi, Haryana, this house is more than just bricks and mortar; it's a slice of history, a sprinkle of stardust, and a lot of charisma. The Pataudi palace, also known as Ibrahim Kothi, is spread across 10 acres and has about 150 rooms. 

Furthermore, the Pataudi Palace has been a part of a lot of movies like Mangal Pandey, Veer Zara, Gandhi: My Father, and Mere Brother ki Dulhan; even the Hollywood movie Eat Pray Love was shot here.

Enriching Legacy of Pataudi House

The Pataudi house was conceptualized and designed in 1939, when Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, the 8th Nawab of Pataudi, married Begum Sajida Sultan of Bhopal. He hired architect Robert Tor Russell and Austrian architect Karl Malte von Heinz to oversee the design and construction and make the palace look like a New Delhi colonial style. 

The property was passed down to Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, nawab of Pataudi House, and Sharmila Tagore in 1952. The Pataudi house was then leased to Francis Wacziarg and Aman Nath, proprietors of the Neemrana Hotels network of "non-hotel" hotels. The Pataudi Palace was transformed into the Pataudi Palace Hotel between 2005 and 2014, and by the time Mansoor Ali passed away in 2011, the Pataudi family no longer owned the property. However, Saif Ali Khan was presented with the opportunity to purchase the Pataudi house in 2014, and he quickly accepted. Once he acquired his home, he revamped it a little to add a contemporary touch, for which he hired interior designer Darshini Shah.
