Attract positive energy through the door

The flow of energy begins with opening the door in your living room. Let it face north, east, or north-east direction. Avoid black color in the door and water-related elements around it. Vastu restricts keeping a dustbin or shoe rack right near the door as they attract bad energy. Keep it clean and clutter-free always. Image Source  www.thespruce.com

Placing the furniture

Furniture beautifies the decor of the living room, but more importantly, you should know the right direction for their placement. Locating the living area close to the kitchen allows easy access to food for your guests. Place your sofa set in the west or south-west direction. In case you wish to add TV and other electronic appliances, install them in the south-east part of the living room.

Striking balance with the right colour

At times, when you walk into a place and you can feel whether it is a happy place or sad through colours. Trap your living room in positive energy by painting the walls in lighter shades such as pink, white, cream, and beige. These colours are associated with purity, warmth, and calmness. Make sure the colours are coordinated well with the furniture and other accessories in the room.

Placing a statue or images of God

Keeping religious symbols such as a statue or images of God helps in maintaining peace around. However, avoid hanging or putting it outside the door. There are other objects which are strictly no-no according to Vastu in the living room or any part of your homes such as a poster or painting of sinking ship, wars, mirrors with cracks and anything that reflects sadness and negativity.

Fill the room with fragrance

The power of Vastu also lies in the scents. Light a few fragrant candles, incense sticks or add fresh flowers and the fragrance emitted by them will remain for hours in the living room. These items are auspicious, purify the environment as well as emit positive energy. The room will surely have a soothing effect on your mind.
